My Portfolio

My work is primarily based on comic books, movies and portraiture, I have done other work and if commissioned I could try other pieces such as architectural pieces, scenery or other various pieces if discussed.

I hope you enjoy my work and get a good idea of the kind of style I work in :)
Man of Steel
Acrylic paint, black pen and pencil on A4 canvas paper

Juggernaut
This was a working progress piece using acrylic paint where I would build up on layers to result in a final image. I am very happy with the outcome.

Alex Ross's 'Mad Love' replication.
I created this painting on A4 canvas paper using acrylic paints and black pen for small detail. Nowhere near as good as Alex Ross's original painting but was fun to do
The Flash.
Using acrylic paint's I wanted to create an expressive piece so after painting the figure of The Flash, I smeared red and yellow paint using a brush and pallete knife to create a motion blur effect. On A4 Canvas paper
Alien vs Predator.
Inspired by the AVPR dvd case I created this piece using acrylic paint. I would have spent more time on the piece but went onto other things, there are areas that I really like though like the explosion and the use of dry brush
Kick Ass.
Inspired by John Romita Jr's artwork from the comic I decided to create an expressionist piece so created this painting using acrylics and black pen and marker pen.
Dr Doom.
To create this piece I first painted the background by using black card and painting a white moon and coloured paint splatter for a cosmic space kind of theme. On a seperate piece of Black card I then painted the Dr Doom figure and cut the image out sticking it to the background. I used acrylic paint and the layered image creates sort of a 3D effect.
Batman & Robin, The Dark Knight Returns.
I painted this working from a splash page from Frank Miller's ' The Dark Knight Returns' I used watered down acrylic paints and black pen and marker.
Batman.
I wasn't originally fond of this image, I created it using watercolour pencils painted on black card. I like the vibrancy of the colours, particularly the colour on the cowl.
Rocky IV.
oil pastel on black card
Predators
created using Oil Pastel on A4 paper
Darth Vader
Oil Pastel on black card
Alex DeLarge
Oil Pastel on black card
Bruce Lee.
This was done from using oil pastel on black card and the Bruce Lee drawing was done separately on a piece of paper drawn with marker pen and cut and stuck into place
Bane from The Dark Knight Rises.
I drew this image of Bane from TDKR using charcoal
Wolverine
created using charcoal
Tragic Hero
I call this one 'Tragic Hero' based on the Death of Bruce Wayne's parents leading him to become Batman. I consider this a blueprint for a similar piece I hope to get around to as I love the symbolism and context behind the image. I created this using chalk on black card.
Peter Parker/Spider-man.
I'm not overly happy with the final outcome of this piece, originally I liked the image before I added the colour and should have left it as such. I created this using pencil and coloured chalk
The Amazing Spider-Man
This is one of my favorite pieces, working from an image in The Amazing Spider-man I created this sketch using pencil.
